After making her debut aged just 20 in Sochi 2014, Laura Dahlmeier returns to the Olympic Games as the foremost female biathlon star on the planet.

  • Name - Laura Dahlmeier
  • Date of Birth - 22/08/1993
  • Place of Birth - Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany
  • Sport/Discipline - Biathlon
  • Honours - World Championship: Gold x7, Silver x3, Bronze x3

Dahlmeier had not yet won her first solo World Cup race, let alone a world title, when she turned up to Sochi, and her best result across five disciplines was her 11th place in the relay race.

But it would not be long before the German, born in the famous ski town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, would start to dominate the sport.

At the 2015 World Championships in Kontiolahti, Finland, Dahlmeier secured gold in the relay and silver in the pursuit. A year later in Oslo she won the pursuit, while collecting silver in the mass start and bronzes in the individual, sprint and relay.

In 2017 in Hochfilzen, Austria, Dahlmeier produced an imperious performance to claim gold in the individual, pursuit, mass start, relay and mixed relay, while winning silver in the sprint to complete a full set of podiums.

It was an ominous warning, coupled with her first overall World Cup title in 2016-17, that she intends to deliver in PyeongChang.
