Cesana San Sicario will be the snow-clad backdrop to the Olympic Games biathlon competition in Turin. The venue - in close vicinity to the bobsleigh-skeleton-luge run - has been purpose-built for the Games and is expected to welcome some 6,500 spectators
Situated at an altitude of over 1,600m some 97km from the city of Turin, the arena has five race circuits ranging from a 2km loop to a testing 4km route.
The nearby former holiday resort of Italsider will house the media, officials and the 220 biathletes, who will be racing in temperatures averaging minus three degrees.
