BMX superstar Bethany Shriever has been confirmed as the team leader for Britain at the 2024 UCI BMX Racing World Championships. The event takes place in Rock Hill, South Carolina on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18. Shriever will be looking to defend the title she won in Glasgow in 2023 and repeat the double she won in 2021 when she secured gold at both the Olympics and World Championships.

‘What a performance’ - Shriever produces brilliant ride to take BMX gold

Double world champion Bethany Shriever will lead an 11-strong British contingent at the upcoming 2024 UCI BMX Racing World Championships.
Shriever, who won gold in both 2021 and 2023 will be looking to defend her title that she won in Glasgow last year.
The World Championships will take place in South Carolina between Friday, May 17 to Saturday, May 18 and will be the final BMX event before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Shriever made history in 2021 when she emulated the legendary Mariana Pajon in winning the Olympic and World titles in the same year, and she will be looking to repeat the feat in 2024.
So far this season, Shriever has a third and a second place to her name in the World Cup.
Another of Britain’s medallists in Tokyo, Kye Whyte – who won silver in 2021 and was the first to win a medal in that discipline for Team GB – is also in the squad.
Whyte missed large chunks of 2023 with injury but has already secured a win in this season’s World Cup.
He’s joined in the Elite Mne’s list by Ross Cullen, Quillan Isidore and Paddy Sharrock.
