Francesco Friedrich won gold in PyeongChang on Saturday to take his first-ever overall World Cup title in the two-man bobsleigh.
Alongside brakeman Thorsten Margis, the German stopped the clock in a time of 1:40.82minutes, lying in first place after his opening run before posting the third-fastest time on his second run.
It was enough to take top spot in Korea though, with Latvia’s Oskars Kibermanis taking second place, finishing 0.30 seconds back alongside brakeman Matiss Miknis.
The third spot on the PyeongChang podium was taken by Johannes Lochner, finishing 0.34 seconds behind his German compatriot.
Four-time world champion Friedrich finished the campaign on 1545 points, having racked up five gold and two silver medals throughout the season.
A 14th place finish was enough to secure second spot in the overall rankings for Steven Holcomb of the USA, ending the season on 1331 points, while Won Yun-jong, last year's overall winner, took third.
