Friedrich reigns supreme after perfect bobsleigh season

Germany's Francesco Friedrich completed the first perfect two-man season in World Cup bobsled history in Calgary with his eighth victory from eight races.

The 28-year-old triumphed along with Margis Thorsten in a time of 1:50.84 minutes to edge out Canada's Justin Kripps and Ryan Sommer, who missed out on gold by 0.09 seconds.
Johannes Lochner and Christopher Weber completed the podium in 1:51.07, finishing 0.23 seconds behind their German compatriots in the bronze medal position.
Friedrich won the two-man overall points title for the second time in three years following his dominant season, topping the final standings ahead of Latvia's Oskars Kibermanis.
He finished with a perfect 1,800 points – taking the maximum 225 points in all eight races – with Kibermanis 236 points further back. Germany's Nico Walther finished third.
