Francesco Friedrich's two-pronged assault on the Bobsleigh World Cup continued apace as he drove his four-man crew to a fourth gold medal of the season.
The 28-year-old double Olympic champion, who has won all six of this season's two-man events, remains the series leader in both disciplines after edging out countryman Johannes Lochner’s sled in St. Moritz.
Friedrich and his crew of Candy Bauer, Martin Grothkopp and Alexander Schueller put together runs of 1:05.46 and 1:05.02 to tot up an overall time of 2:10.48 - enough to take gold by just 0.51 seconds.
Fellow German Lochner (2:10.99), who was followed in the St. Moritz standings by Latvia's Oskars Kibermanis (2:11.01), remains Friedrich's nearest challenger in the four-man title-hunt.
Friedrich is chasing a first-ever four-man World Cup crown after second-placed finishes in both 2015-16 and 2017-18, while in the two-man, he is looking to regain the title he won in 2016-17.
This year's World Cup circuit resumes in Lake Placid, in the United States, on February 15-16.
