Andre Lange steered his Germany I sled to Gold in the Winter Olympics two-man bobsleigh on Sunday, maintaining his country's iron grip on the sport. Lange, Olympic four-man champion four years ago in Salt Lake City, and brakeman Kevin Kuske mastered the tricky Cesana track in difficult conditions.
The Canada I sled driven by Pierre Lueders won the silver medal while Martin Annen's Switzerland I settled for the bronze.
The Germany I sled narrowly avoided a major mishap on Saturday when Kuske slipped at the start of the second run and cut his left calf with his spikes. The experienced brakeman still managed to squeeze into the bob.
The injury proved minor and he was cleared to start Sunday's medal-deciding runs.
