Injured coach expected at Games
Germany's head bobsleigh coach Raimund Bethge, who fractured both legs in an accident on the Olympic track in November, is expected to come to the Turin Games. German team sports director Stefan Krauss said Bethge was due to leave the clinic where he is undergoing rehabilitation on Friday.
Krauss said he would talk to the clinic's head doctor on Thursday to seek permission for Bethge to travel to Turin on Sunday.
"There is a 99 percent chance that he will come here," Krauss told reporters.
Bethge had both legs fractured when he was hit by an Australian bob during practice on the Cesana track on Nov. 30. After undergoing surgery, he is now able to walk on crutches.
Bobsleigh action at the Cesana track starts on Feb. 18.
