Anthony Joshua plans to utilise Wladimir Klitschko's knowledge in his bid to become the first undisputed heavyweight world champion since 2000.
The IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion is chasing a unification showdown with America's WBC holder Deontay Wilder, and wants former opponent Klitschko on his side for the challenges ahead.
The unbeaten British fighter has paid a glowing tribute to the retired Hall of Famer, claiming he is the better fighter despite getting off the canvas to stop Klitschko in the 11th round of a brutal world title bout at Wembley a year ago.
Joshua's fellow British fighter Lennox Lewis was the last undisputed world heavyweight champion in 2000.
"If (Klitschko) can give me a little bit of his knowledge, I think it will spur me on to do better than I project," said Joshua, who moved one title from immortality with his points win over WBO heavyweight holder Joseph Parker in Cardiff last month.
"I need him on my side, definitely. I have so much respect for him.
"His brain is like a boxing encyclopaedia.
I will always look at Klitschko, even though I beat him, as the better man because he's done more than me. Even though I beat him that night, in terms of his overall career, he's done so much. I will always take my hat off to him, and respect him.
