Tyson Fury 'officially retires' from boxing

The British heavyweight saw his fight with the former world champion cancelled in September after the Londoner suffered a cut eye in training,

The fight was rescheduled for February but again that had to be cancelled after Haye was forced to have shoulder surgery.

Haye has since been advised to retire from the sport due to the injury.

Fury – who is notorious for his foul mouthed and grammatically questionable tweets - said on the social network site: "Hi every1, I have officially retired from boxing. There's to many b*** people in the sport. They will have to f*** some1 else. Good by boxin"

Whether Fury's proclamation will be taken seriously by the boxing community remains to be seen.

Fury is still only 25-years-old and has a perfect record of 21 professional victories from 21 fights.

The 6' 9" former British and Commonwealth champion has admitted struggling to cope with depression in the past.

In an interview with the Guardian in 2011 he said: "There is a name for what I have. Where, one minute I'm happy, and the next minute I'm sad, like commit-suicide-sad. And for no reason – nothing's changed.

"One minute I'm over the moon and the next minute I feel like getting in my car and running it into a wall at a hundred miles an hour. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm messed up."
