Dan Linfoot claimed his first ever BSB race win as he safely negotiated the treacherous conditions to take victory in Race 3 of the weekend at Silverstone.
Teeming rain made for an extremely slippery surface and only seven riders made it to the end of the race. But Honda Racing’s Linfoot stayed upright and was leading the race when it was called off after ten of the 14 laps.
Yamaha’s Michael Laverty was second, with Dixon of RAF Reserves Kawasaki in third. The podium finish for Dixon sealed his spot in the ‘showdown’ over the final three weekends, where the top six riders in the standings will face-off for the title.
Earlier Josh Brookes had taken victory in Race 2 after a crash and red flag brought the race to a premature end.
Shane Byrne continues to lead the overall standings as he goes in search of a sixth crown, with Brookes and Leon Haslam hot on his heels.
