The BeWiser Ducati rider saw off competition from Josh Brookes (McAms Yamaha) and Jake Dixon (RAF Regular and Reserves Kawasaki), before picking up his brother, Andrew, who had fallen earlier in Q3.

Leon Haslam (JG Speedfit Kawasaki), who leads the championship by 74 points, starts from the second row, alongside team-mate Luke Mossey and the second McAms Yamaha of Tarran Mackenzie.

Race 1 and Race 2 are at 13.30 and 16.30 on Sunday.
