England captain Michael Vaughan is a major doubt for the first Test against the West Indies after breaking a finger. Vaughan suffered the blow playing for Yorkshire against Hampshire and just two weeks before the match begins on May 17 at Lord's.

He has been diagnosed with a clean break of the middle finger on his right hand, after a delivery from Hampshire's Australian fast bowler Stuart Clark reared up and struck him on the hand.
Yorkshire's physio Scott McAllister said the injury would take "three to four weeks" to heal, meaning Vaughan could also miss the second test at Headingley, starting on May 27.
Vaughan has missed England's last 15 Tests since breaking down with a knee injury on a 2005/06 tour to Pakistan, but was certain to lead England in Peter Moores' first match as national coach.
If Vaughan fails to make a speedy recovery, Moores faces the tough job of choosing a new skipper.
Ashes captain Andrew Flintoff seems unlikely to lead the side having presided over a 5-0 Ashes whitewash and had much-publicised disciplinary problems at the World Cup.
The other obvious candidate, Andrew Strauss, is far from certain of a place in the side, meaning Paul Collingwood or even Kevin Pietersen could come into the reckoning.
