Norway notched up a second team sprint podium double of the season as their dominance of the Cross-Country World Cup continued in Dresden.
After speeding to victory in the opening World Cup team stage on home soil in Beitostolen before Christmas, they secured an impressive one-two in Germany.
Youngsters Erik Valnes and Sindre Bjornestad crossed the line to claim gold in a time of 22:38.72 in the 6x1.6km event.
Just over a second behind were the more seasoned pairing of Pal Golberg and Eirik Brandsdal, with Russia’s Artem Maltsev and Gleb Retivykh securing bronze.
The two nations are trading blows at the top of the Cross-Country World Cup standings, but Norway hold a commanding lead in both the overall and men’s stakes.
The third stage of four World Cup team events comes in Ulricehamn, Sweden and a 4x7.5km relay contest later this month.
