Norway retain relay crown in Falun
Norway's women have reclaimed their status as 4x5km relay world champions after racing to victory in Falun, Sweden.
The quartet of Heidi Weng, Therese Johaug, Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen and Marit Bjoergen finished in a combined time of 49:04.7, Sweden 29.2 seconds behind in second and Finland 30.9 seconds back in third.
The Norwegians were never far from the lead during the first leg and began to assert their dominance in the second thanks to Johaug.
Despite the best efforts of Charlotte Kala, Sweden couldn't claw back the difference and, by the final leg, there was little doubt that gold would be heading back to Norway.
All that was left was for the Swedes and Fins to duke it out for silver as the USA struggled to keep pace at the front of the rest of the pack – eventually finishing 1:49.9 behind the winners.
