And as it was Ustiugov took the crown in style, his time of 3:24:47.9 hours more than a minute ahead of his nearest challenger Martin Johnsrud Sundby of Norway.
In the end Sundby could only gain nine seconds on Ustiugov as the Russian added to his Junior and Under-23 World Championship titles.

Dario Cologna of Switzerland began the day in third place, about 30 seconds ahead of Finland's Matti Heikkinen and Maurice Manificat.
And despite Manificat and Heikkinen recording the first and second fastest times of the day, Cologna held on for third place in the Tour overall finishing 1:19.1 behind Ustiugov and 7.8 seconds ahead of Manificat. Heikkinen crossed the finish line another 4.4 seconds later for fifth place.
