Emil Iversen continued his fine record at Oberstdorf with victory in the 15km mass start at the Tour de Ski.
The Norwegian cross-country edged out Francesco de Fabiani in a time of 45:30.3, winning by less than a second from the Italian.
That was Iversen's third win in Oberstdorf, having won the same event a year ago, while also taking the sprint event at the same venue in 2016.
Russia's Sergey Ustiugov followed in third and now sits second overall in the Tour de Ski standings, with Iversen in third.
However, Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo continues to lead the competition, despite finishing only ninth in Oberstdorf.
Alexander Bolshunov, the overall World Cup leader, endured a tough day, finishing in 32nd spot to drop down to fourth in the Tour de Ski rankings.
The competition continues on Thursday with the 15km pursuit in Germany before shifting to Val di Fiemme in Italy for the last two races.
