Japan, Scotland and Switzerland all claimed wins in the afternoon session of the World Women’s Curling Championships in Denmark, keeping them in touch with the leaders of the table.
In the seventh round-robin session in Silkeborg, Japan faced Canada and were drawing 2-2 but edged ahead at 4-3 and eventually prevailed 7-5.
Switzerland played hosts Denmark and took a 4-2 lead after fourth player Alina Paetz opened her team's scoring in the third end with a split-shot tap on her own stone to score four points.
Paetz then scored four points again in the seventh end to take a 9-3 lead before Denmark conceded.
With regular skip Sophie Jackson still injured and sidelined, Scotland's alternate player Lauren Gray carried on with her skipping duties for the third game and, facing Germany, she played a draw for three points in the first end to open the scoring.
Later, in the seventh end, Germany's skip Daniela Jentsch played a draw for four points to take a 7-6 lead, but eventually, in the tenth end, Gray played a double take-out across the house to score two points and give Scotland a 9-8 win.
