The Czech Republic were not actually on the ice at the Championships in North Bay, but they join already qualified Sweden, South Korea, Russia, United States and Canada after the home team came out on top in the evening session.
Canada beat United States 8-5, China prevailed over Germany 7-6, Russia defeated Denmark 10-5 and Scotland came out on top 6-5 over Olympic silver medallists South Korea.
The combination of results mean Czech Republic take the sixth and last available slot in the weekend's play-off games while Canada top the table and Sweden will be in the other semi-final on Saturday.
Canada and Sweden’s opponents will be determined by two qualification games beforehand, where fourth-placed Russia take on fifth-placed Czech Republic and South Korea face off against the United States.
Canada's Jennifer Jones said: "We've had a pretty consistent week and made a lot of big shots when we had to and hopefully that streak can continue into the play-offs.
"Anytime you can play at a World Championship is a dream come true and if you get to stand on the podium it's truly unbelievable, so hopefully we will get that chance to play in the final."
