Already top of the table and assured of top billing in the semi-final, Sweden outclassed Italy 9-2 in just seven ends to draw the round robin phase to a close.
At the foot of the table Turkey could not quite do enough to lift themselves out of the relegation zone and will find themselves playing in the B Division next season.
Heading into their clash with Denmark, they knew a win would give them a chance of staying up and sending their opponents down.
But the Danes scored a single stone in the tenth end to level the scores at 7-7, before winning it with one against the hammer in the extra end.
Joining Turkey in relegation are Hungary after they were beaten 9-3, in just eight ends, by Scotland.
Skip Eve Muirhead guided her rink to a four-score in the eighth end, cementing their victory and ensuring it would end prematurely.
Scotland will play Switzerland in Friday's semi-finals and the home team warming up for the clash with their second defeat of the week, going down 6-5 to eventual seventh-place team Czech Republic.
While the session's other fixture saw Russia finish in fifth place and Germany in sixth after the former won their encounter 5-3.
