The lead changed hands six times at North Bay's Memorial Gardens with Moiseeva drawing her last stone into the house to score two points and seal the bronze medal.
"It's incredible, I am so proud of my team. It was such a good game with ups and downs, some stones they made better than us and we made some good shots too," she said.
"I have no words to describe it. We fought so hard for that. It was a long week for us, but it was a great adventure and to finish it with a medal just feels so amazing.
"I'm glad I had a lot of time to think and prepare myself [for that last stone]. I tried to get rid of all the emotions I had and just play it.
"This is a new team that came to the world championship and this shows we have a lot of great curlers in Russia."
Both teams were making their first appearances at this level and after giving up a steal of one point in the second end, Russia made amends in the third end with two points.
United States levelled in the fifth end before stealing another one to lead 3-2 at the conclusion of the sixth.
Russia took the lead again in the eighth end when Moiseeva hit out a stone to score two points but two for United States in the ninth put them back in front once more.
But Moiseeva held her nerve to claim the win with her final stone and US skip Jamie Sinclair was proud of his rink's Championship despite coming away empty-handed.
"Our first goal was to qualify and we did that. Then we re-assessed from there and our second goal was definitely to bring home some hardware and we had the chance," she said
"We came close but it wasn't meant to be today, but I'm just super-proud of the team for coming this far, we've come a long way in two years."
