Sweden stay undefeated at Curling World Championships

Olympic silver medallists Sweden beat Korea 5-4 on Monday evening to go into a clear lead at the top of the rankings at the World Men's Curling Championships.

During the eighth session of round-robin play in Las Vegas there was never more than one point between the teams but in the tenth end Niklas Edin hit out a Korean stone to get Sweden over the line.
The result means Sweden are unbeaten after five games and have a clear lead at the top of the standings ahead of Norway, who have a 4-1 record – Canada and Scotland share third spot on 3-1.
Norway's first defeat came in the same session as they went down 10-8 to Russia, while Germany picked up their first win of the event with an 8-7 victory over the Netherlands.
The other winners in Monday's evening session were Japan, who beat China 7-4 with scores of two points in each of the fifth, seventh and eighth ends.
Earlier on Monday, during the afternoon session, Switzerland beat Germany 7-4 to record their first win of the event, Canada prevailed over Italy 8-7, China defeated Korea 9-4 and Scotland recorded an extra end 7-6 victory over the United States.
