Sweden topple USA in Curling grudge match

In a high-quality affair, Sweden levelled the contest with two points in the eighth to force an extra end, into which they carried their momentum to claim the narrowest of victories.

The result takes them top of Group A on nine points, with the USA down in third having played a game more than second-place Switzerland.

Canada and Scotland sit level on ten points at the top of Group B with the North Americans recording a 9-7 win over Norway and the Scots running out 7-6 victors over China.

In the women's competition, PyeongChang silver medallists South Korea took the initiative at the top of Group B after a 6-3 victory over Japan, while elsewhere Scotland shocked the United States 3-2 in a low-scoring affair for their first win of the competition.
