Cunego will work on his time trial positioning with fellow Itailan Giuseppe Martinelli in Texas.
"I don't think that the positioning will have to be completely new," Cunego told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "On the other hand, with the materials I expect to discover something interesting. I am very curious."
Cunego finished 106th overall in the Tour's opening time trial at 6'23" behind stage winner Serhiy Honchar, but improved in the second ITT with a tenth place performance just 3'33" behind Honchar, who won again.

"To lose 1 second every 1000 meters will be a little bit better," Cunego said of his future time trial hopes. "It is important is to not have mishaps, and at the Tour I realized it was possible."
Cunego, who finished fourth in his Giro repeat attempt and 12th in his Tour campaign, said he would not try the Tour-Giro double again in 2007.
"For sure I won't be doing the Tour and Giro," Cunego said. "I will aim for the pink jersey, and before that the Liège-Bastogne-Liège, a classic I am able win."
