Annemiek van Vleuten continues along the road to recovery after her horrific crash in the road race - even posting a selfie of her bruised face.

"Thanks for all the messages. Hard to deal with my disappointment but also proud about our performance," she wrote on Twitter, accompanying it with a photo of herself.
The picture indicates that she has a sizeable black eye plus cuts over her face as well as stitches on her forehead.
She was taken to hospital after the crash with initial reports saying that she was conscious but suffering from a concussion as well as three cracks in her spine.
Since then she has been undergoing some tests - but has been quick to reassure fans on social media that it's the pain of missing out on Olympic gold that's hurting her most.
