Jan under fire again
The state prosecution service department of Bonn has announced they believe former T-Mobile leader Jan Ullrich to have been using banned substances provided by Spanish doctor Eufemiano Fuentes’ infamous doping ring since 2003.
“Our findings are based reports coming from the Spanish police and are in no way conclusions we have come to by ourselves,” stressed spokesman Fred Apostel.
“To verify the fundamentals of the report, we asked the Spanish police for their co-operation.”
Ullrich is due to face a hearing at the Swiss cycling federation in coming weeks, and stands accused of involvement in the ‘Operacion Puerto' doping scandal.
The German's long-term manager Rudy Pevenage and former T-Mobile team-mate Oscar Sevilla are also being investigated into reports of usage of illegal substances.
