Defending champion Primoz Roglic sprinted to victory on Stage 1 of the Tour de Romandie on Wednesday.
Having been pipped to victory in the prologue by Jan Tratnik on Tuesday, Rogic looked back to his very best on the 168.4km route from Neuchatel to La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Roglic may not be Team Jumbo-Visma’s main rider in Switzerland, but the victory sees him moving into the overall leader’s position and grab the yellow jersey from his compatriot Tratnik.
Britain’s Geraint Thomas, riding in the new Team Ineos kit, finished fifth on Stage 1 and moves up a place to fourth overall, 13 seconds back on the new race leader.
