Dutch rider Fabio Jakobsen (QuickStep-AlphaVinyl) made it two wins out of two for his team at the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana on Thursday afternoon in Spain. His perfectly executed sprint finish brought him victory, following on from Wednesday's win for his teammate Remco Evenepoel at the opening stage in Valencia.

Highlights: Jakobsen takes second stage in Spain

Fabio Jakobsen (QuickStep-AlphaVinyl) won stage 2 of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana in an impressive sprint display in Torrent.
The Dutch rider was helped by exploiting the Intermarch-Wanty-Gobert grouping with a kilometre to go, and he timed his dash perfectly with 200m remaining, and nobody was able to close him down as the finishing line approached.
Second place went to UAE Team Emirates’ rider Juan Sebastian Molano, ahead of Ineos Grenadiers’ Elia Viviani in third.
Matej Mohoric (Bahrain Victorious) finished in fourth while fifth went to (Intermarche-Wanty-Gobert Materiaux).
Jakobsen’s teammate Remco Evenepoel won Wednesday’s opening stage one event. Evenepoel retains the GC lead with a 19 second advantage over Vlasov, and third is held by Carlos Rodriugez Cano (Ineos Grenadiers), 37 seconds behind.
"We started out yesterday with a win from Remco [Evenepoel] and it showed that the team is in good shape. Today was a hard stage and I definitely hard to work hard for this," Jakobsen said as he celebrated victory.
"We had control all day with Josef Cerny and then in the final Mikkel Honoré did a long pull. Then the entire team did a lead out. Remco was I think one of the strongest again to help me, which is think is nice in the yellow jersey. If Wanty doesn't pass us in the last corner I think we have a perfect lead out. But they came underneath, and we had to re-do it.
"I found my own way and launched myself at 200 from the line. I have to say I had small cramps in the legs because it was hot and the first race of the season but I'm happy with the win."
