THE SCHEDULE

Sat Sept 21: Beverley-Tadcaster-Wetherby-Harrogate Circuit – Para-cycling Road Races (C1 Event)
Sun, Sept 22: Harrogate Circuit – Team Time Trial Mixed Relay – 28km (two circuits)
Yorkshire plays host to the first ever Team Time Trial Mixed Relay. Each national team will consist of three male and three female riders. The men will set off first and the women will follow suit when the second man crosses the finish line. Final timings will be decided when the second woman crosses.
Mon Sept 23: Harrogate Circuit – Women Junior Individual Time Trial – 14km (one circuit)
This promises to be a scenic route, taking in RHS Garden Harlow Carr and its neighbouring countryside. But the scenery aside, there will be plenty of short ascents and descents for riders to tackle.
Mon, Sept 23: Men Junior Individual Time Trial – 28km (two circuits)
Taking the same route as the Women Junior Individual Time Trial, encompassing the Duchy estate and Valley Gardens. A finish in the centre of town promises to bring big crowds.
Tues Sept 24: Ripon to Harrogate – Men Under 23 Individual Time Trial – 32.5km (route plus one circuit)
After a 12km flat start to the route, there is an eventual rose towards Harrogate, with an uphill finish favouring riders who can put substantial power through the pedals.
Tues, Sept 24: Women Elite – Individual Time Trial – 32.5km (route plus one circuit)
Following the same route as the Men Under 23 Individual Time Trial, the finish will favour those who can produce a powerful finish.
Wed, Sept 25: Northallerton to Harrogate – Men Elite Individual Time Trial – 54km (route only)
This will be a taxing section of the event, with heavy winds potentially playing a role from the off. After passing Risplith there is barely a flat section of the route, and riders will have to time their busts well.
Thurs, Sept 26: Richmond to Harrogate – Men Junior Road Race – 144.5km (route plus three circuits)
After 37km, we have the first key climb of the route, which provides the perfect opportunity for the breakaway. At the end of the route, riders will complete three circuits before a sprint finish on Parliament Street.
Fri, Sept 27: Doncaster to Harrogate – Women Junior Road Race – 91.5km (route only)
The opening 60km are flat, but exposed to the conditions and wind could be a big factor. Riders will have to battle fatigue on the drag towards Harrogate.
Fri, Sept 27: Men Under 23 Road Race – 192.5km (route plus three circuits)
This route can be split into two sections - a flat opening 90km following a punishing final 100km.
Sat, Sept 28: Bradford to Harrogate – Women Elite Road Race – 149.5km (route plus three circuits)
Beginning in Bradford, the riders head north into the Yorkshire Dales before doing the Harrogate circuit three times.
Sun Sept 29: Leeds to Harrogate – Men Elite Road Race – 284.5km (route plus seven circuits)
This will sort the men from the boys, with a route encompassing the Dales, followed by seven circuits of Harrogate that will ensure the strongest survive.

WHO ARE THE CURRENT ROAD RACE CHAMPS?

The reigning champion in the men’s road race is Spaniard Alejandro Valverde (Movistar).
The women's champion is Dutch rider Anna van der Breggen (Boels-Dolmans).
