Britain's Adam Carroll has been dropped by the TME Audi team after "failing to fulfil sponsorship obligations", bringing his DTM season to a premature end.
The team, run by Spyker Formula One boss Colin Kolles, made the announcement just ahead of the sixth round of the tin-top championship at Mugello in Italy, which seems to centre around Carroll, 24, taking time off from his team duties to race in GP2 with FMS.
"From the sixth round of DTM in Mugello on, Team Futurecom-TME won't appoint Adam Carroll as their driver," read a statement.
"Team Futurecom-TME regrets the end of the working relationship and wishes Adam all the best for his further career."
German driver Markus Winklehock will replace Carroll in the 2005-spec Audi A4 this weekend while Carroll, following his GP2 win at Silverstone last weekend, seems likely to complete the season with the team co-owned by F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella.
