From July 8–15, 2018, the Grand Parquet equestrian site in Fontainebleau, France will welcome Eventing, Show Jumping and Dressage athletes for this major competition, proudly supported for the first time by the Swiss watchmaking brand Longines.
The Swiss watchmaking brand Longines, which has been involved in equestrian sports since 1878, is proud to lend its support to GRANDPRIX Group by becoming the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Longines FEI European Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders, taking place from July 8 to 15, 2018, in Fontainebleau, France. This collaboration was made possible through a common desire to highlight the values of sport as well as the promising young riders in each discipline.
“Longines is very proud to announce that from this point forward we are the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Longines FEI European Championships for Young Riders, Juniors & Children, which will be held in the exceptional setting of Fontainebleau, France. Our passion for equestrian sports dates back 140 years, and we attach great importance to supporting events that are aligned with our core values of tradition, elegance and performance, and the Longines FEI European Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders are no exception. Moreover, our brand has always been dedicated to encouraging the new generation of athletes in each sport that we are involved in, and we are therefore delighted to time the performances of young talents during this thrilling week of competition,” says Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President and Head of International Marketing of Longines.
For Vincent Goehrs, founder of GRANDPRIX Group, the involvement of Longines will be an important asset in making this international sporting rendezvous a success. “It is an honour to be supported by Longines, with whom we share the same vision of our sport. We want to make these multidisciplinary championships not only an intense moment of sport but also one of exchange and sharing between the various actors in the three disciplines. The European Championships for Under-21s are truly a springboard for young talents, and it is essential that the 620 riders and horses compete in the best conditions possible. To that end, the support of Longines and its presence as Official Timekeeper are major assets.”
