At home Sweden’s riders left no chance to their opponents in the Longines Nations Cup of Falsterbo. Thanks to the perfect performances of Peder Fredricson on H&M All In and Malin Baryard-Johnsson on H&M Indiana. Switzerland and Italy took the second and third position.

After the amazing victory in the CSIO5* Grand Prix of Peder Fredricson on H&M All In, the Swedish flag fluttered again over Falsterbo for the Nations Cup. After a perfect first round, Malin Baryard-Johnsson on H&M Indiana and the Grand Prix winner where clear again in the second round while their compatriot Fredrik Jonsson on Cold Play, revelation of the World Equestrian Games of Tryon, contributed to the victory despite one fence down. The second round was more difficult for Stephanie Holmén on Flip’s Little Sparrow. After a clear round, the pair finished the competition with three faults. Fredricson had the maximum weight of expectancy on his shoulders as he set off in the second round with the result hanging precariously in the balance. A fence down would hand it to the Swiss, and even a single time fault would mean a jump-off against them. “It’s always much nicer afterwards than before – there’s a lot of pressure because you want to do well at home because you know the feeling is very nice and you don’t want to miss it!”, confessed the leader of the team.
Only one points behind, Switzerland had to settle for the second position. But the team did a great performance. After the three clear rounds of Niklaus Rutschi on Cardano CH, Beat Mandli on Dsarie and Paul Estermann on Lord Pespsi, Steve Guerdat had the chance to preserve his fabulous Albfuehren’s Bianca. Unfortunately, only one points deprive the team of a jump-off. With nine points, Italians completed the podium. The team was composed by Paolo Paini on Ottava Meraviglia di Ca’ San G, Luca Marziani on Tokyo du Soleil, Giulia Martinengo M on Elzas and Bruno Chimirri on Tower Mouche.
