Birdman achieves new heights in ERC

Although his challenge was undone by an administrative issue that kept him out of Friday’s action, the Pole responded by scoring his first outright stage win courtesy of his quickest time through the Grupo Marques spectator stage on the Azores Airlines Rallye’s final leg.

“We were setting some good times and it was nice to win my first overall stage for the first time in my life because it was not easy to catch the World Rally Cars when I was in WRC2,” said Ptaszek, who is competing in a Tagai Racing Technology ŠKODA Fabia R5. “That stage was for my dad because I know he’s sitting in the company thinking ‘what’s happened, what’s happened’ but now we win.”
