Late twist in store for ERC Rally Islas Canarias

This year’s Rally Islas Canarias, the Spanish round of the FIA European Rally Championship, is set to feature a potentially decisive late twist.

While the event itinerary has yet to be officially disclosed, organisers of the Las Palmas-based classic have revealed the rally will finish with the longest stage of the event, the 24.21-kilometre Gáldar test on the afternoon of Saturday 5 May.

Only the Acropolis Rally in Greece included a longer final stage in 2017 with the Elatia/Karya run measuring 33.86 kilometres in length.

Rally Islas Canarias hosts the second event of the 2018 ERC season from 3-5 May.
