Proud Rally Islas Canarias bosses planning “exciting” route for 2019 ERC

Pending FIA World Motor Sport Council ratification when it meets in St Petersburg, Russia on 5 December, Rally Islas Canarias will take place from 2-4 May as the second event of the upcoming season.

“We are very proud to be part of the ERC 2019 calendar,” a statement from the event organising team read. “Our appointment will be the first weekend of May, for that date we have planned an exciting route and we hope to have an awesome entry. To share the FIA ERC calendar with legendary rallies is a pleasure for all of us and for sure our fans as well.”

1:Subject to FIA World Motor Sport Council approval, Rally Islas Canarias will host round two of the 2019 FIA European Rally Championship.
2:The event marks the first of four asphalt rallies on the provisional ERC calendar for 2019.
3:Alexey Lukyanuk’s 2018 victory was his third in succession on Rally Islas Canarias.
4:Rally Islas Canarias joined the ERC for the first time in 1982 and has counted for Europe’s premier rally championship 25 times
