R5 chance for ERC Junior Llarena

Efrén Llarena has been handed a huge opportunity to prove his talent in an R5 car on the Spanish championship finale in Madrid later this month.

Llarena, who finished third in the Pirelli-supported FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship in 2018 as part of the RFEDA-backed Rally Team Spain initiative, has been handed a dream drive in a Ford Fiesta R5.

With continued support of the Spanish federation, plus backing from Arcomóvil – the official Ford dealer from Murcia – Llarena will contest the Rally Comunidad de Madrid from 23-24 November alongside regular co-driver Sara Fernández.

Following the announcement, Llarena tweeted: “Many thanks to RFEDA and Arcomóvil for making this dream a reality. We promise you won’t regret it.”

Meanwhile, Fernández will get the opportunity to get equated with the car when she co-drives Spanish federation president Manuel Aviñó in the same Fiesta on Rally de La Nucía-Mediterráneo in Alicante this weekend (9-11 November).
