Spanish leaders for ERC action

The leaders of both the Spanish Supercampeonato and the Spanish Asphalt championships will be in action on next month’s Rally Islas Canarias.

Xavi Pons (ŠKODA Fabia R5) starts the all-asphalt event – a combined round of the FIA European Rally Championship and Spanish series – leading the Supercampeonato classification, while former ERC1 Junior contender Pepe López (pictured) heads the Spanish Tarmac title chase in his Citroën C3 R5 following his victory on the recent Rallye Sierra Morena.

Former Spanish champion Iván Ares, ex-ERC1 Junior José Suárez-Alberto Iglesias (Hyundai i20 R5), and Spanish championship frontrunner Surhayén Pernía are also set to contest Rally Islas Canarias, which takes place from 2-4 May.
