The Yamaha Europe-supported Slovakian team Maco Racing are fielding a new line-up at the 24 Heures Motos. James Ellison, Enzo Boulom and Stefan Hill will be riding the Yamaha #14.
Maco Racing, who finished just short of the podium at the Bol d’Or last September, are currently 7th in the provisional standings of the 2019-2020 FIM EWC after a difficult race in Sepang.
With direct support from Yamaha Europe and a rejigged line-up, the Bratislava-based team are determined to deliver standout performance at Le Mans to climb the rankings. Team manager Martin Kuzma has entrusted Maco Racing’s Yamaha to British riders James Ellison and Stefan Hill and Frenchman Enzo Boulom. “We’re aiming for the highest possible position in the Top 10, though we know we’ll be up against stiff competition,” says Martin Kuzma.
James Ellison – the 2003 endurance world champion, and a former MotoGP and BSB rider – brings a wealth of experience to the table. The 39-year-old veteran will be the mainstay of the team. He will partner Enzo Boulom, 23, an up-and-coming star in French Supersport and 4th-place finisher in last season’s FIM Endurance World Cup with Team 33 Coyote Louit Moto, and 22-year-old former FIM Supersport rider Stefan Hill.
