For safety reasons, the start of the 8 Hours of Slovakia Ring has been brought forward to 12.30pm CEST on Saturday 12 May. The third round of the 2017-2018 FIM EWC was initially scheduled to take place from 2.30pm to 10.30pm.
The 8 Hours of Slovakia Ring will take place two hours earlier than previously scheduled. Some parts of the circuit do not have strong enough lighting to guarantee rider safety after dusk, during the final stage of the race. At the request of the riders, the start time has been changed.
As a result, the 8 Hours of Slovakia Ring will now be flagged off at 12.30pm this coming Saturday, and will end by nightfall, at 8.30pm. This year marks the second time the endurance race is being held on the circuit near the Slovakian capital Bratislava.
The night test scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) has also been brought forward, from 8.30pm to 7.30pm. The 8 Hours of Slovakia Ring moves into high gear tomorrow with free practice, a first official test on track with timesheets at 11.40am, and the first qualifying from 3.40pm onwards.
