One number, one story – 23 for Kawasaki

Kawasaki France have certainly made their mark in endurance racing. The factory-backed French team won seven world titles from 1981 to 1996, before deciding they would only compete in the championship’s two races in France: the 24 Heures Motos and the Bol d’Or.

After Gilles Stafler took over the reins in 2009, the new Kawasaki France factory team notched up an impressive series of wins in the two French races. They made a strong return as a full-season competitor in the 2017-2018 FIM EWC.

Their determination paid off and they tasted victory in the 2018-2019 championship. The finish of the 2019 Suzuka 8 Hours saw Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar claim the FIM EWC crown, with Jérémy Guarnoni, David Checa and Erwan Nigon on the ZX-10R.

It was the maiden title for Gilles Stafler’s line-up, but an 8th world crown for Kawasaki, after the brand’s 23-year wait to once again engrave its name in the annals of endurance racing.

Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar have fielded the same rider line-up as defending champions this season.
