Spectacular turn of events in Superstock

Moto Ain CRT, the FIM Superstock World Cup standings topper, had powered into the lead in the Superstock class at the 8 Hours of Slovakia Ring and looked to be just a hair’s breadth away from the 2016-2017 World Cup victory. The race took a dramatic twist at around 5pm, when Christoffer Bergmann suffered a spectacular crash. The badly damaged Yamaha 96 returned to the track well over a quarter of an hour later to start lapping beyond 20th place.

The race set-up at 6pm would give Yamaha Viltaïs Experiences the Superstock win and the World Cup, just ahead of Moto Ain CRT and Tati Team Beaujolais Racing.
