Spectacular twist at Le Mans

In a spectacular turn of events, David Checa crashed out while riding the GMT94 Yamaha, which had been in the lead at the 24 Heures Motos since the third hour of the race.

The bike suffered serious damage, and was pushed back to the pits by David Checa, who was fortunately unhurt.

The Yamaha was quickly repaired and returned to the track at 9.24 am in 11th place, 19 laps behind the new race leader F.C.C. TSR Honda France.

This means the Japanese team can now envisage wresting the top spot in the FIM EWC championship standings from GMT94 Yamaha.
