The second day of private testing at Suzuka once again took place in the wet. Team Kagayama was the quickest in the delicate conditions.
Team Kagayama, who presented their line-up just before the two days of private tests, are already making a splash. Led by Yukio Kagayama, formerly a headline rider for Yoshimura Suzuki who pulled off the Yoshimura win in 2007, the team have announced the hire of a big-name team manager, Kevin Schwantz, and two experienced riders: American Moto2 rider Joe Roberts and Japanese rider Naomichi Uramoto, who is racing the Spanish Championship.
Team Kagayama’s Suzuki #71 proved fastest on the soaked track in Suzuka, with a 2:20.741 lap. They were trailed by KYB Moriwaki Motul Racing’s Honda ridden by Ryuichi Kiyonari, Yuki Takahashi and British Superbike racer Dan Linfoot (2:20.801) and Yoshimura Suzuki Motul Racing’s Takuya Tsuda, Sylvain Guintoli, Bradley Ray and Kazuki Watanabe (2:20.842).
A bigger turnout of teams entered for the 41st edition of the Suzuka 8 Hours is expected at the official tests from 10 to 12 July, hopefully in better weather conditions.
