Mido to miss Mauritania

Injured Tottenham Hotspur striker Mido has been left out of the 23-man squad named by Egypt coach Hassan Shehata for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania.

Mido sustained an ankle injury during his club's 3-1 win over Watford in the Premiership on Saturday, the Egypt Football Association said.
Shehata recalled Shady Mohamed - captain of African Champions League winners Al Ahli - for the first time in four years and added two uncapped players in Tersana goalkeeper Ahmed Saad and Harras Al Hodoud midfielder Abdelsalam Nagah to his selection.
The match takes place in Egypt, who lead Group 2, on Sunday.
