FT: Senegal 1-0 Uganda. Mane's early strike sends the Teranga Lions into the last eight. The Liverpool man also missed a penalty in the second period, but it did not prove costly against a Uganda side who struggled to create clear-cut chances.

Three minutes added.
The Senegal fans are desperate to start partying, but with just the 1-0 lead, it remains a nervy finale for them.
SENEGAL CHANGE: Niang off, Diagne on.
Uganda will feel they have edged it for large parts, but they've struggled to create openings, in truth.
SENEGAL CHANGE: Sarr off, Keita Balde on.
Kateregga steps up but sees his driven effort beaten away by Gomis.
It could well be 35 yards out, in fact. Kateregga is lining it up...
Okwi pushed to the floor by Kouyate. Free kick to Uganda 30 yards out.
UGANDA CHANGE: Aucho off, Kateregga on.
Can Uganda make Senegal pay for a laboured display? Time is running out for the Cranes.
Azira takes aim from 25 yards out but drags his effort a few yards wide of Gomis' right-hand post.
Koulibaly booked for following through on Okwi after winning the ball.
SENEGAL CHANGE: Saivet off, Diatta on.
Mane could already be well on course for the Golden Boot had he netted the two spot kicks he has failed to convert here and v Kenya.
Remember, the winner of this will meet Benin for a place in the semis.
Nervy moments for Senegal. They fail to clear a right-wing corner and Okwi somehow fails to convert at the far post.
It wouldn't have counted, as he was offside, but Senegal were all at sea in defence there.
Mane with two missed penalties in this competition. If Senegal get another, you'd surely expect someone else to take it....
PENALTY SAVED! Mane hits his spot kick to his right, but Onyango dives the right way and easily pushes it to safety.
The referee has a chat with Onyango, but does not show him the yellow card.
PENALTY TO SENEGAL. Uganda are caught playing it out from the back. Mane is in but is tumbled by Onyango. The keeper has already been booked too....
The right-wing corner comes to nothing, but there's no doubt which team is in the ascendancy in this half so far.
UGANDA CHANGE: Allan Kyambadde on for Kaddu.
Lumala shows some nice pace down the right. He takes on three and wins a corner when his cross is diverted behind.
Uganda enjoying a lot of the ball early in this half but not really creating much in the final third.
Miya curves a right-foot effort over the wall but can't bring it down quick enough to test Gomis, and it flies over the bar.
Miya over another free kick. This one is in a central position 30 yards out.
Mane on how the Senegal side that reached the 2002 AFCON final influenced him: "Millions of people in Senegal were inspired by how our team played in that competition. It is one of the best stories in our country's history. Even now, that is a big motivation for us, to go one better and finally win this trophy for all of the people in Senegal. It would be incredible."

KICK OFF! Uganda restart this Last 16 tie.
- End of 1st Half
HT: Senegal 1-0 Uganda. Mane's cool finish on 15 minutes separates the teams at the interval.
Two minutes added.
Senegal have played within themselves and Cisse will want more from his side in the second period. If you take the lapse that led to Mane's goal out of the equation, Uganda have done well.
Miya whips a teasing free kick from the right into the middle, but no-one can apply a finish at the far post. That was a decent moment for Uganda.
Read our full match report from Benin's surprise shoot-out win over Morocco.
Niang looks to spring the offside trap and races down the right, but is halted as he looked to cut in from the byline after Onyango once again raced off his line to try and make a challenge. It was another heart in mouth moment for Ugandans, but this time he did enough to deny the Senegal forward.
STAT: Senegal have lost nine of their last 14 knockout phase matches at AFCON.
- Yellow cardKhalid AuchoUganda
Aucho is third Uganda player to be cautioned for a late tackle from behind on Sarr.
Okwi rises above Gassama but can't flick his header from a right-wing corner on target.
PHOTO: Main Man-e.
VIDEO: Mane's opener.
Gomis gets a big left hand behind Okwi's driven 20-yard strike and does well to push it to safety.
Mane is now the AFCON top scorer with three goals so far.
Senegal probing for a killer second now. Cisse's men have their tails up after that simple opener.
- OffHassan WasswaUganda
- OnTimothy AwanyUganda
Uganda forced into a change too. Timothy Awany on for Wasswa.
- GoalSadio ManéSenegal
GOAL! Mane is sent clear on goal after Senegal nick the ball deep in Uganda territory. The Liverpool man has time to pick his spot and makes no mistake with a clinical low finish beyond the keeper.
Bevis Mugabi bursts into space on the right and drills in a low cross-shot that almost catches Gomis out at his near post. Safe hands from the Senegal stopper in the end.
DID YOU KNOW? Uganda are featuring in their first knockout clash in this competition since 1978. It is also their first ever meeting with Senegal at AFCON.
- Yellow cardPapa Alioune N'DiayeSenegal
The referee is suddenly card happy. Ndiaye is the latest to go in the book. We've only had 11 minutes and already we've got three cautions.
Play only just resuming after lengthy treatment for Kouyate. He looks okay to continue though.
- Yellow cardEmmanuel OkwiUganda
Another poor one from Uganda as Okwi leads with the elbow in an aerial challenge with Kouyate.
Okwi is booked.
After all of that, the free kick comes to nothing.
Lots of protests from both players there. Senegal wanted a red card, but the referee opted for the caution. It was certainly a rush of blood to the head though!
- Yellow cardDenis OnyangoUganda
Denis Onyango comes charging out of his area and crashes into Sarr on the far right wing. It's a poor challenge from the keeper. What was he doing coming all the way out there!?
STAT: Senegal have picked up seven wins from their last eight matches. Their only reversal came in the 1-0 loss to Algeria in Group C.
The winner of this match will meet Benin in the last eight after they stunned Morocco 4-1 on penalties to secure the biggest win in their history.
- 1st Half
KICK OFF! Senegal start the contest.
DID YOU KNOW? Senegal's M’Baye Niang attempted the most shots without scoring in the group stage of this year's Africa Cup of Nations (12).
How we got here: Uganda finished as runners-up to Egypt in Group A with four points from three matches, while Senegal also came second in their pool. The Lions of Teranga took six points from their Group C matches.
More from Mane on AFCON: "Senegal reached the final in 2002 and that is a big memory for me growing up as a kid. That was the moment I started to really focus on the national team. Millions of people in Senegal were inspired by how our team played in that competition. It is one of the best stories in our country's history. Even now, that is a big motivation for us, to go one better and finally win this trophy for all of the people in Senegal. It would be incredible."
I sat down with Sadio Mane for an exclusive chat for World Soccer magazine at the start of the year. We covered a wide range of topics including his desire to win AFCON. Here's a snippet of what he said: "In the past there have been some shocks with two or three of the biggest teams not qualifying, but now it has the larger format there are no excuses. If Senegal are going to win their first, this would be a great time to do it. We would be the best ever."
Senegal's Ismailia Sarr features in our run down of the top 10 goals in the group stage.
Uganda coach, Sebastien Desabre: "We are not afraid of any opponent. Senegal have played in the World Cup and it is our chance to play a good team. We will give 100 per cent. All teams have strengths and weaknesses. We know the style of play we will use against Senegal."
Senegal coach, Aliou Cisse: "It's direct elimination, so it will be hard. The Ugandan team are the team who have lost the least in the last few years. We played a friendly before the World Cup and had a 0-0 draw and everyone said they were a little team, that we should have won, and I said, 'be careful'. This is a team who are progressing. They kept their identity African. They play like true Africans."
