Bayern Munich’s disastrous pre-season continued with a 2-0 defeat to Napoli, with the home fans at the Allianz Arena booing their team off the pitch at full time.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side came into the match on the back of a dismal result and performance against Liverpool the night before. The second string team couldn’t do much better, as their Serie A opponents ran out comfortable winners.
Kalidou Koulibaly scored the opener for Napoli, making the most of slack Bayern defending to thumb home a finish from close range. Emanuel Giaccherini added a second after the break, with the Bavarians once again suspect at the back.

Next up, Bayern Munich face Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup. On the basis of their recent performances, Ancelotti must be worried about the new 2017/18 season. The Bundesliga champions look far from ready.
TALKING POINT - Should Carlo Ancelotti be concerned by defence?
With defeat to Napoli, Bayern Munich have lost their last six pre-season games. The two goals came as the result of poor defending, following on from last night’s disappointing performance against Liverpool. This was a second string Bayern team, but nonetheless, they are much better than they showed on this occasion.
MAN OF THE MATCH - Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich)
There weren’t many on the Bayern Munich side who excelled, with the Bavarians turning in a dismal display against Napoli, but Kimmich was probably the best player on the pitch. This was the German international’s first game of pre-season and in a young team, he was something of an experienced figure. It was a role he excelled in.
Bayern Munich - Fruchtl, Kimmich, Sule, Friedl, Mai, Vidal, Rudy, Sanches, Tillman, Wintzheimer, Coman.
Napoli - Sepe, Maggio, Maksimovic, Koulibaly, Ghoulam, Zielinski, Diawara, Callejon, Hamsik, Insigne, Mertens.
10’ TILLMAN WAS THROUGH! The Bayern Munich youngster was released in behind the Napoli backline, but Maggio did really well to track him and make the recovery challenge.
13’ CALLEJON IS DENIED! The former Real Madrid attacker was put through on goal by a neat flick, but the Bayern Munich goalkeeper comes off his line to smother the shot from Callejon.
14’ VIDAL SHOOTS AT GOAL! The Chilean midfielder brought down a ball in the box before getting a shot away at goal, but Sepe just about did enough to deal with the effort.
15’ GOAL! Bayern Munich 0-1 Napoli: Napoli have taken the lead after just 14 minutes! The cross came into the Bayern Munich, causing mayhem. Koulibaly was on hand to smash home the finish from close range.
36’ WIDE OF THE FAR POST! That was close to an equaliser for Bayern Munich, with Sanches striking an effort from the edge of the box. It took a deflection and flashed just past the post.
56’ GOAL! Bayern Munich 0-2 Napoli: That's an exceptional goal from Giaccherini. The defending from Bayern Munich wasn't great and the Italian international struck home an excellent finish into the bottom corner.
Bayern Munich have now lost six pre-season games in succession.
