Rampant Manchester United thrash Aston Villa to go second in Women's Super League, Chelsea top after huge win

Manchester United thrashed Aston Villa 5-0 to provisionally go top of the Women's Super League table on goal difference. Five different scorers found the net in a resounding victory, ending Villa's three-match unbeaten run. Chelsea went back on top when they beat Leicester 809 later on Saturday, while Arsenal went level with United by beating Everton.

Manchester United thrashed Aston Villa 5-0 in the Women's Super League table, and Chelsea beat Leicester 8-0.
Five different scorers found the net in a dominant display from Marc Skinner’s side, who briefly sat top ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea’s games.
United have 21 points, the same as Arsenal who secured a 1-0 win against Everton.
Katie Zelem opened the scoring in the 13th minute by smashing a shot into the roof of the net, before Leah Galton finished well to double their lead on 28 minutes.
Alessia Russo tapped in a third early in the second half, before an Ona Batlle stunner and a stoppage-time Rachel Williams goal completed the rout.
It ended a three-match unbeaten run for Villa, who dropped to sixth in the standings.
Next up for Manchester United is a clash with Everton in the League Cup on Wednesday, while Villa travel to Sheffield United.
Eight goals for Chelsea without reply from Leicester City - including two from Fran Kirby - sent Chelsea back to the top on 24 points.
