Bayern Munich are looking to offload Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro, according to German press reports.
The 27-year-old infuriated team-mates and coaches with his antics in Bayern's home game against Eintracht Frankfurt, refusing to allow club penalty taker Roy Makaay to step up after the Bundesliga champions had been awarded a spot-kick just before half-time with the score already at 2-0.
Pizarro, in time-honoured playground fashion, held the ball behind his back, before taking the kick himself, and seeing it saved by Frankfurt 'keeper Oka Nikolov.
"Egotistical and selfish!" was general manager Uli Hoeness' reaction to the incident.
It is not the first time his actions have caused annoyance among the club's hierarchy.
At the annual Oktoberfest beer festival, he was stopped by police and found to have been drink driving. As it was his second offence, he promptly had his driving licence revoked for nine months.
He also infuriated club bosses with his wage demands, believed to be around 4 million euros per year after tax. Contract negotiations immediately stalled, with Hoeness commenting "anyone who wants to earn like [Chelsea's Andriy] Shevchenko, also has to play like Shevchenko."
Pizarro's contract runs out at the end of the year, with Sevilla reportedly interested in recruiting the burly front man.
