Liverpool are apparently willing to break their transfer record by offering £61m to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.

French media outlet Le Parisien claims Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group will fund the astonishing swoop for the Gabon forward, who was the Bundesliga's top scorer with 31 goals last season.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp remains a big admirer of Aubameyang, 28, after winning two German Supercups with the striker leading the line for his Dortmund side.
Liverpool can offer the prospect of Champions League football, but Dortmund will demand to be heavily compensated for losing former St Etienne player whose contract expires in 2020.
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have both been linked with summer moves for the player.

VIEW FROM GERMANY: Liverpool are a realistic option, but expect him to stay Dortmund

It seems to be more likely Aubameyang will stay at Dortmund, writes Eurosport's Johannes Mittermeier. As you know PSG and Chinese clubs have reportedly lost interest with his BVB contract still running until 2020.
Personally, I was very sure he would be leaving and playing in France next season. However, his options have been decreasing. Milan could be one for Aubameyang - and allegedly Liverpool with his former Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp, who worked with the player between 2013 to 2015.
Dortmund’s chances of keeping the player are certainly better than a few days or weeks ago. In my opinion, Liverpool is the only other reasonable possibility if he moves because of Champions League football.

VIEW FROM FRANCE: PSG no longer interested in Aubameyang

I can tell you that Paris Saint-Germain are not going after Aubameyang during the close season, writes Eurosport's Vincent Bregevin.
He is not for coach Unai Emery and new sporting director Antero Henrique. The younger Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe has emerged as the top priority for PSG.
