There's just six points between the two teams now. It got a bit nasty towards the end, but Bayern will reflect on a hard-fought win.

FULL TIME: Bayern Munich 1-0 RB Leipzig
SECOND YELLOW! And Sanches has also been sent off for Bayern Munich after getting involved in the aftermath of the tackle from Ilsanker. He raised his hands to the Austrian.
SENT OFF! RB Leipzig will finish this match with 10 men. That was a rash challenge from Ilsanker on Thiago. That was born out of frustration, but still doesn't excuse it. Red card.
- OffThomas MüllerFC Bayern Munich
- OnJavi MartínezFC Bayern Munich
Martinez comes on for Bayern Munich as they attempt to shore things up for the final few minutes.
Three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.

- OnJean-Kévin AugustinRB Leipzig
And now another change for RB Leipzig with Poulsen coming off.
- OffKonrad LaimerRB Leipzig
- OnMatheus CunhaRB Leipzig
On comes the Brazilian winger Cunha for the final few minutes at the Allianz Arena.
Poulsen heads wide! That was a glorious opportunity for RB Leipzig to hit back immediately, but after climbing highest Poulsen puts his header wide of the target. He should have at least tested Neuer.
Well, it didn't kinda feel like that goal was coming for Bayern Munich. They had stepped things up in the past 10 minutes or so. This would be a massive win for the Bavarians.
- GoalFranck RibéryFC Bayern Munich
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Bayern Munich 1 (83 mins - Franck Ribery) RB Leipzig 0. Finally, the breakthrough! And it's Bayern Munich who have made it! Upamecano's clearance was a poor one, it bounced off Sanches and the ball fell to Ribery. The French winger then cut his shot back to find the corner of the net.
Into the last 10 minutes of this match and it just feels like Bayern Munich might be turning the screw on RB Leipzig. They have created more in the past five minutes than in the whole match.
- OffBrumaRB Leipzig
- OnStefan IlsankerRB Leipzig
A change for RB Leipzig and Bruma comes off to be replaced by Ilsanker. Bruma did quite well.
- Yellow cardRenato SanchesFC Bayern Munich
Sanches is the latest player to be shown a yellow card for stopping a RB Leipzig counter attack.
Massive chance! That should have been a goal. Kimmich arrived on the scene to meet a Lewandowski header across goal, but his powerful header was clawed out by Gulacsi. Wow.
Sule over the bar! Oh dear. The Bayern Munich centre back should have done so much better with that. Gulacsi dropped a cross, but Sule volleyed over the bar from about eight yards out.
Is there a winner left in this match? All of a sudden it just feels like Bayern Munich are cranking things up. They know how important this match will be for their season.
Chance for Muller! That's the closest Bayern Munich have come in this second half. The cross was made by Alaba and Muller tried to guide it goalward. But if flashes wide.
Still waiting for a goal to break the deadlock in this match, and to be perfectly honest it doesn't seem like one is coming. Both teams are cancelling each other out at the moment.
Kovac looks a little concerned on the touchline. This isn't going to plan for Bayern Munich. They have the talent to make the breakthrough, but the game plan isn't working.
The pressing game from RB Leipzig has been impressive throughout. They are now allowing Bayern Munich to settle at all and having two up front means they can press high.
Neuer isn't happy! The Bayern Munich goalkeeper is making the case that Poulsen pushed Hummels into him as he came out for a ball. Replays show he might have a case.
Sanches strikes it! The ball fell to the feet of the Portuguese midfielder about 20 yards out from goal. He steadies himself before striking, but the ball flashes wide of the near post.
- Yellow cardKonrad LaimerRB Leipzig
It's a yellow card for Laimer, who takes out Ribery rather cynically.
Ragnick will be pleased with what he has seen since the half time break. It might have been assumed that Bayern Munich would come out firing, but that hasn't happened.
Keep in mind the opportunity that Bayern Munich have been handed this evening. Borussia Dortmund lost last night. This is a chance for the champions to close the gap.
Not so long ago, Sanches was thought to be finished in the game, at least at the top level. But Kovac has brought him back into the fold at Bayern Munich this season and he has impressed.
- OffKingsley ComanFC Bayern Munich
- OnRenato SanchesFC Bayern Munich
A second change for Bayern Munich and it's Coman who comes off for Sanches. Hmmmmm that's an interesting one.
It's all getting a bit scrappy in the middle of the pitch, and that won't bother RB Leipzig. Bayern Munich need to change something because this game plan just isn't working.
Werner was onside! No, wait. He wasn't. The RB Leipzig striker was played through and his shot was deflected over. The flag stayed down until the play had finished, then it was raised. VAR.
Across the face! That was an opportunity for Bayern Munich to make the breakthrough. Coman was looking for Lewandowski with a drilled cross, but the pass was just a little too strong.
Will Kovac be thinking about a change to his team already here? This isn't working for Bayern Munich at the moment. RB Leipzig are pegging them back. Not creating much at all.
The injury to Gnabry in the first half seemed to knock Bayern Munich out of their stride. They had been on top until that moment, but the Bavarians have lost their way since then.
This has been a slow start to the second half from Bayern Munich. They are giving up possession way too cheaply inside their own half and that is giving RB Leipzig encouragement.
The first half was a strange one. Bayern Munich started the better of the two teams and could have taken the lead through Lewandowski. Then RB Leipzig came into the contest.

- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Bayern Munich 0-0 RB Leipzig. Still waiting for the breakthrough, but both sides have struck the woodwork. Bayern started better, but RB Leipzig have grown into the match.
Werner is down! The German international has taken a knee to the back of his knee, if that makes sense, and needs a moment to gather himself. Looks like an impact injury, though. He'll be fine.
This is good pressing from RB Leipzig. They have grown into the match and are now not allowing Bayern Munich any time to play out from the back. This time, Hummels has to kick long and out.
It was always likely that this would be a tight affair. Just a couple points separates the two teams in the Bundesliga table and so this game could have a big bearing on the season.
This has turned into a bit of a struggle for Bayern Munich. They started the match on top and should have been ahead through that chance for Lewandowski, but have since been pegged back.
Off the crossbar! Inches away from being the opener for RB Leipzig. Upamecano jumped higher than anyone else to get on the end of a cross and smashes a header against the woodwork.
The injury to Gnabry has knocked Bayern Munich out of their stride a little bit. It's not RB Leipzig who are on top and are threatening to open the scoring. Bayern are passive.
The shot was tame! Werner showed urgency in breaking to the byline and cutting the pass back for Bruma on the edge of the box. His shot turns out to be a very tame one, though.
The Bayern Munich players and fans believe that Werner bought that foul from Hummels, and they might have a point. He spun to make the most of any contact.
That's a real shame for Gnabry. He was really starting to come into his own for Bayern Munich, scoring four goals in his last five games. The winter break comes at the right time for him.
- OffSerge GnabryFC Bayern Munich
- OnFranck RibéryFC Bayern Munich
Indeed, the change is required and Ribery comes on for the injured Gnabry.
Gnabry is down! Uh oh. This could be a problem for Bayern Munich. Gnabry looks to have pulled up and is sat down on the Allianz Arena turf. Could this be his game over?
Indeed, the replays show that Gulacsi just got a touch on the shot from Lewandowski. The former Liverpool goalkeeper's intervention was enough to keep the Polish striker out.
How didn't he score? Lewandowski was clean through. Gnabry slotted him through, Lewandowski beats Gulacsi, but his shot comes off the inside of the post and behind. It's a corner, so was it a save?
Bruma... on target! The RB Leipzig attacker cut inside off the left wing and got the shot away on goal. But Neuer watched it all the way and made the comfortable diving save.
Werner has 10 league goals for the season so far. He has four in his last five games and he will be the danger man for RB Leipzig this evening. He can score against any opponent.
Going back to the Hernandez news, Bayern Munich have confirmed that they will be overhauling their squad and spending big, but most assumed that would happen in the summer.
That was an awkward one for Hummels, who just had to get rid of the ball after being put under pressure by the pass from Alaba. RB Leipzig can't make use of the position.
- Yellow cardDiego DemmeRB Leipzig
Demme becomes the first player to enter the book for a late tackle on Thiago.
It's been a mixed season for RB Leipzig so far. They have done okay in the Bundesliga, but they crashed out in the group stages of the Europa League last week. Disappointing.
RB Leipzig are now getting a grip of the game. They are still second best in terms of possession, but they look comfortable in the face of Bayern Munich having the ball.
That was easy enough for Gulacsi. Kimmich played the cross into the opposition penalty area, but it was far too close to the RB Leipzig goalkeeper, who can make the easy catch.
One bit of Bayern Munich related news today is that the Bavarians are expected to sign Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid for £80m when the January window opens. They have activated his release clause.
RB Leipzig win a corner kick, but Bayern Munich effectively defend the delivery from Kampl and then they force Bruma wide as well. The away side must use their set pieces.
Of course, Kovac has struggled over the early part of his Bayern Munich career. The former Eintracht Frankfurt boss has struggled to make his mark on the German champions.
This has been a pretty strong start from Bayern Munich who are dictating things early on. RB Leipzig are having to do a lot of chasing, but they do have quality on the counter.
RB Leipzig have been extremely strong at home this season, but their recent record against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena leaves much to be desired. They can change that here.
Straight at Neuer! That wasn't the worst strike from Halstenberg, but the effort was straight at Neuer in the Bayern Munich goal and he can make the straightforward save.
Good early pressure! Bayern Munich have started well. Kimmich's freekick delivery caused some panic in the RB Leipzig box, with Goretzka lifting a cross too long on the rebound.
Gnabry looks lively for Bayern Munich early on. The former Arsenal man has been in good form of late. He has four goals in his last five outings, so no surprise to see him start.
